About our Founder

Meet Dr. Rachel Alex

Dr. Rachel Alex is the Founder and CEO of HELP in Schools, a leadership development and consulting firm established in July 2021 to support school systems in building strong leaders, sustainable systems, and measurable results. With nearly three decades of experience in public education, Dr. Alex has dedicated her career to helping educators, leaders, and organizations maximize their impact on student success.

Her professional journey spans the classroom, campus leadership, district administration, regional service, and executive leadership. She has served as a teacher, counselor, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, turnaround principal, executive director, Chief Academic and Accountability Officer, and Interim Superintendent. These diverse experiences provide her with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing educational leaders at every level.

Throughout her career, Dr. Alex has led initiatives focused on leadership development, school improvement, strategic planning, performance management, professional learning, instructional leadership, and organizational effectiveness. She has coached and trained hundreds of campus and district leaders across Texas, helping them strengthen leadership capacity, improve systems, and achieve sustainable results.

Dr. Alex holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, where she also serves as an adjunct professor preparing future principals and superintendents. Her expertise includes executive coaching, leadership development, principal and superintendent preparation, performance evaluation systems, Teacher Incentive Allotment implementation, strategic planning, and organizational transformation.

As a published author, keynote speaker, consultant, and leadership strategist, Dr. Alex is known for her practical approach to leadership—one that bridges vision with execution and purpose with performance. Her work is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: strong schools are built by strong leaders.

Through HELP in Schools, Dr. Alex partners with districts, campuses, and organizations to develop leadership pipelines, strengthen teams, align systems, and create the conditions necessary for students and educators to thrive.
